Nabeul, Tunisia

We hired two taxis to take us to another nearby town, the town of Nabeul.

Nabeul is the center of pottery making in Tunisia. This statue is in the middle of an intersection.

Walking through the market--a butcher shop with heads suspended near the door

Vegetable seller with his greens, limes and onions

Three ladies were sitting near the fish market selling fresh bread. They each had a bag full of warm bread. Since they didn't speak French, they showed me how much a round bread cost--300 millimes, which is about 15 cents. Very cheap, but then the average monthly salary of a worker here is about $225/month.

We visited a state pottery factory. All the pottery is hand painted.

The colours are beautiful and if we didn't have to fly back, we would have made a shop owner very happy.
