Since Grenoble is a city of apartment dwellers, a park is your back yard. We went to the "Jardin des Plantes" this afternoon--a botonical garden with trees from around the world (yes, a sequoia from California too), a greenhouse with cacti, a rose garden where we judged the best smelling roses, a rock garden, and a small bamboo forest. There was a cool tree that the kids climbed.
Gardens often have statues . . . and pigeons.
There is usually an area for kids with play structures and sand box, and many benches for writing in one's journal (Anna pictured), reading, catching up with friends, working on one's computer, eating lunch or napping.
Luc practiced his card tricks (he is totally into this now!), Isabelle journaled and drew a picture of the statue pictured above. I read the local paper.
Tomorrow is the first day of school. Anna and Luc begin at 8am whereas Isabelle doesn't begin until 10am!
